Mass Effect - Tali's Growth Serum
If Tali had to describe Quarian culture in one word, she would have used adaptive. Logical, no? Their race had been banished from Rannoch by the Geth during the Morning War. What remained of their culture had been salvaged with haste, like a man grabbing his most valuable possessions as he flees from a home in flames. You had to save what you could. Texts, artworks and folklore were therefore sparse. So much had been abandoned during the exodus, and the few remaining artifacts in her people’s possession were kept safe and secure behind locked doors. She remembered sitting through a few ceremonies with her father, as the elders read from ancient stone slabs – boring but priceless nonetheless. Being an admiral’s daughter meant she’d been forced to endure those tiresome, drawn-out rituals. Tali hadn’t understood their meaning back during her childhood, but after learning just how precious this small remainder of her people’s Rannochian culture was, she’d immediately changed her mind.
